Dr. Goudarzi is a Certified Protection Professional with a proven expertise in the field of workplace violence prevention and executive protection. He was an instructor at the University of California at San Diego Extension, teaching workplace violence security response. In addition to twenty-three years of service with the San Diego Police Department, seventeen of which he spent in the investigations bureau working burglary, robbery, internal affairs and homicide, he has twenty years of private sector experience conducting civil and criminal investigations, general security consulting, managing and working protection details.
Dr. Goudarzi has traveled throughout the U.S. for clients in financial, medical and technology arenas responding to or managing more than 150 workplace violence situations. He has established a network of professionals throughout the United States and the world to respond to critical situations or incidents requiring a professional response to insure the safety of his clients. Dr. Goudarzi authored the chapter on Workplace Violence in the book; Protection, Security and Safeguards: Practical Approaches and Perspectives. He also wrote the chapter on Robbery Suppression that addresses establishing and maintaining teams to deter armed robberies at financial establishments.
He teaches workplace violence response on a national level. He is seasoned in performing on-site assessments, customized violence vulnerability audits, management and employee training as well as security consultations and risk assessment. He brings to the table an invaluable blend of strategic planning for incident prevention, and vital hands-on experience for managing immediate and threatening situations. Recognized for his expertise, he was contracted by the Environmental Protection Agency (Region 5) to perform a security assessment and author their Workplace Violence Program.
Dr. Goudarzi is a consultant with Fortune 500 companies. He has provided executive protection teams throughout the U.S. and South America as well as threat assessments for companies working and traveling in Mexico. He has served on and managed numerous robbery suppression teams and provided security for diplomats and celebrities. He is candid and thorough.
He was invited and sponsored by the Bolivian Government to do a presentation on Risk Assessment: Defending Against Terrorism at the first Security and Anti-Terrorism conference in Bolivia. He was contracted by the State Department to train the protection details for the President of Colombia. He spent time in Bagdad, Iraq as a security consultant. He is certified as a security driving instructor as well as a close combat instructor for executive protection agents.
Dr. Goudarzi received his BA in Public Administration and his MA in Counseling. He has a Teaching Credential in Psychology/Police Science and a Doctorate in Clinical Hypnotherapy.
His professional memberships include the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals (San Diego Board of Directors for two years), the California Association of Licensed Investigators, the National Association of Chiefs of Police, and the International Association for Counterterrorism & Security Professionals as well as the U.S. Department of State Overseas Advisory Council. He is a Certified Protection Professional with the American Society for Industrial Security, a licensed private investigator and a private patrol operator qualified manager. He is an expert in self-defense with a 4th degree black belt in karate.
